Overview

The Assistant Project Manager (APM) will be responsible for assisting the Project Manager with managing the project life cycle process on assigned projects. The APM will assist in obtaining project pricing, budgeting, estimating, detailing, management of subcontractors/vendors, and project schedules.

Responsibilities

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Assists in maintaining a safe and secure work environment by attending safety meetings, site observations and reports, participating in incident investigations, and maintaining employee involvement.

  • Responsible for assisting project managers and superintendents in executing the project life cycle.

  • Works with the Project Manager and Superintendent to manage the planning and installation of Project Scope of work to ensure code and project requirements are met .

  • Use existing company SOPs to establish Contract Drawing control procedures incorporating any specific project requirements.

  • Assists in initiation of the Procore job management system and documentation storage on Egnyte.

  • Develop an accurate and complete Submittal and Material Expediting Logs, participate in Subcontractor coordination meetings, and communicate and coordinate submittal approvals in accordance with the Contract Documents.

  • Assist in development and updating of the Site Utilization and Logistics Plan.

  • Assists Project Manager and Superintendent in the implementation of the Site-Specific Safety Plan and Quality Control Plan.

  • Participates in operational, corporate, and departmental meetings, as required to successfully execute the project and/or departmental goals.

  • Assists Project Manager in preparations and scope of work development of vendor and subcontractor purchase orders and subcontracts.

  • Responsible for the management of submittals, shop drawings and closeout documentation to be in accordance with all contract documents, drawings, and specifications.

  • Actively prepare documentation in monthly reports and cost reviews, capturing deviations from plan or schedule.

  • Assists Project Manager as needed with change management, project documentation, and project close out, including commissioning requirements.

  • Ensures all clarifications, drawing revisions, directives, RFIs, etc. are incorporated and coordinated in the current drawings and planning and is coordinated with Bernhard supervision and all vendors and subcontractors’ schedules.

This position is Full-Time, Non-Exempt, and reports to the Delivery Prime Project Manager.

Qualifications

Required Education, Experience, and Qualifications

  • 4-year degree in Construction Management, applicable Engineering, or applicable field work experience.

  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Must be able to read construction plans and specifications.

  • Thorough knowledge of construction technology, scheduling, equipment, Procore and other methods.

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.

  • Detail-oriented and willing to tackle various ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment.

  • Excellent multitasking and perform duties outside of the scope of work when necessary.

Travel Requirements

  • 100% of time will be spent traveling to job site(s)/office location.

Physical/Work Environment Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

  • Climbing stairs.

  • Remaining in a stationary position, often kneeling, standing, or sitting for prolonged periods.

  • Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.

  • Quiet environment.

  • Light work that includes adjusting and/or moving objects up to 20 pounds.

Pay Range

USD $50,000.00 - USD $66,800.00 /Yr.
