Western Kentucky University Overnight Desk Attendant, The Gatton Academy in Bowling Green, Kentucky

The Gatton Academy of Mathematics and Science in Kentucky seeks a part time overnight desk attendant. The Gatton Academy houses 194 minors who attend class on the campus of Western Kentucky University and reside in Florence Schneider Hall, the Gatton Academy's dedicated residence hall. The residence life desk is located in the student lobby and is staffed 24 hours per day.

Job Duties:

  • Monitors residential lobby and desk between the hours of 11pm to 7am

  • Directs phone calls to appropriate residential staff

  • Reports any suspicious activity to residential supervisor

  • Follows protocol/checks credential of anyone seeking entry into the building

  • Greets students who may be out and about after curfew ends at 6am

  • Updates student location within Orah software in the event of an early morning check-out.

  • Performs round of building common spaces every two hours

  • Maintains a clean, neat, and orderly work space

  • Follows established safety plans in the event of emergency

  • Remain awake and alert for duration of eight-hour shift

    Job Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED

  • At least one-year customer service experience (part-time or full-time)

  • Ability to work rotating schedule of Monday/Tuesday or Wednesday/Thursday and every other Friday/Saturday/Sunday from 11pm to 7am. (shift starts at 11pm Monday night and ends at 7am Tuesday morning)

  • Availability for Fall and Spring semesters and seven weeks of summer camp

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills'

  • Reliable transportation

    Additional Information:

Hourly Rate: $13.00
