Together, Momentive Technologies and our customers are reshaping the world. Technology Technician Primary Duties: Assisting engineers and scientists with a variety of laboratory tasks. Performs troubleshooting and repair of electrical and mechanical systems. Performs basic machining tasks, including operation of drills presses, Bridgeport mills, manual engine lathes, and surface grinders. Programs and operates PLC and PID controlled furnaces. Perform basic electrical troubleshooting and repair of equipment up to 500VAC. Performs chemical and/or physical analyses or scientific tests using both routine and special techniques in compliance with all safety standards. Prepares, analyzes and processes laboratory samples. Records results of tests, organizes data, performs basic computations, and prepares reports and analyses using standard procedures and guidelines. Installs, operates, maintains and repairs laboratory equipment, apparatus, systems. General Expectations: Each employee will work safely and obey all Environmental, Health & Safety rules and procedures under all circumstances, and follow safety policies. Each employee has a responsibility to ensure the QUALITY of our process meets or exceeds customer expectations. "Customer" may be internal, i.e. the next downstream process. Report and communicate deviations to our quality standards. You have the responsibility to immediately correct the deviation and/or report this condition to the Lab Supervisor, Process Engineer, Manager. Responsibilities: Listed below are some specific responsibilities of a Technology Technician. These are not to be construed as the complete list of job requirements or as any limitation to the quantity of work that may be required in the future. Work with scientists and engineers performing project related tasks supporting new process and product development. Work in cross a functional team environment to support introduction of new product and process development as well as improvement or support of existing products and processes. Prepare material samples as required Operation of testing equipment per JTAs Submit samples for outside testing as needed Complete Special Requests Maintain/complete test logs, repeatability studies, and test data Assist in conducting, writing, updating, and reviewing JTAs The ability to use the computer system to log results and other information: SAP test reporting, report generation, certification generation Microsoft Excel data entry/calculations Creating/revising documents using Microsoft Word The responsibility for maintaining a clean and orderly work area The responsibility for reporting maintenance requirements for the equipment used The responsibility for ordering chemicals or supplies from stores for the laboratory The responsibility to work in a safe manner and follow all the safety requirements Other duties as assigned Education/Skills/Experience: High school diploma or GED Diploma, Trade Certificate, Associates degree Machining and electrical sy
