Ohio Wesleyan University Payroll Specialist in Delaware, Ohio

*Ohio Wesleyan University *( www.owu.edu ) **is a selective, private, undergraduate liberal arts, residential institution founded in 1842 and is located just 20 miles north of Columbus. The Human Resources Office is seeking a Payroll Specialist. As Payroll Specialist, you will be responsible for accurate and timely processing of payroll for our diverse workforce. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of payroll regulations and compliance and be proficient in using ADP Workforce Now. 

Responsibilities:

  • Administer and process all employee benefit payroll deductions.
  • Prepare, process bi-weekly and monthly payroll for employees using ADP Workforce Now.
  • Maintain database of personnel information and accurate payroll records. 
  • Ensure accuracy of time and attendance records and resolve discrepancies.
  • Collaborate with other HR team members to update and maintain employee information in the payroll system.
  • Stay current with multi-state payroll tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance.
  • Address employee inquiries related to payroll matters in a timely and professional manner.
  • Provide appropriate payroll related information and guidance to supervisors and managers.
  • Prepare and reconcile payroll reports for management review.
  • Assist in year-end processes, including W-2 preparation and distribution.
  • Assist Payroll/HRIS Manager on projects related to payroll and employee data, as needed.  

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in payroll processing.
  • MUST be proficient in using ADP Workforce Now.
  • Strong understanding of payroll regulations and compliance.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
