SCOPE OF POSITION:

Develops and administers policies and procedures for evaluating and improving the quality of products, materials, components and/or manufacturing processes. Makes recommendations to ensure production runs meet established quality standards and predicted yields. Ensures employees follow established procedures and complete quality assurance work within time and budgetary constraints. May be responsible for ensuring products meet international quality standards such as ISO 9001. Works across a variety of quality assurance disciplines.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Works directly in QA inspection and testing to ensure that establishment and regulatory standards are met

  • Reviews inspection reports and confers with QA, production, management and engineering personnel when necessary to solve work related problems

  • Records inspection results by completing reports, summarizing reworks and wastes and inputting data into quality database

  • Training the production team on quality control measures to improve product excellence

  • Monitoring the use of equipment to ensure it is safe and discard any that do not meet requirements

  • Manages CAPA and Nonconforming Material (MRB) processes

  • Leads AISC certification and maintenance

  • Performs all other duties as assigned

Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE/ SKILLS/ EXPERIENCE/ EDUCATION: (Minimum Education and/or Experience required)

  • B.S. degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial), and at least 5 years of manufacturing quality management experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Basic knowledge of all types of tooling and gauges

  • Should be capable of reading micrometers, telescoping gauges, calipers, comparator, indicators, etc.

  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.

  • Computer proficiency including MS Office, and Minitab.

  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles.

  • Experience in metal fabrication and welding process preferred.

  • AISC implementation experience preferred.

  • Experience launching new site preferred.

  • Experience supporting more than one site preferred.
