Job Duties and Responsibilities

DISH is seeking a Litigation Paralegal to become part of our in-house legal department. As a Litigation Paralegal, you will be tasked with assisting the litigation team with general litigation duties, and special projects, including responding to Subpoenas, factual investigations, document collection and drafting legal correspondence, overseeing small claims lawsuits, and providing administrative support internally and to outside counsel with our electronic billing system.

To be successful in this role, you will need to be proficient with Microsoft Office and Google applications such as Word/Docs and Excel/Sheets. You will also need to be able to multitask effectively and thrive in a busy, team-oriented, collegial environment. Previous litigation experience is required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide general litigation support to attorneys and senior paralegals

  • Respond to Subpoenas

  • Assist in litigation case management, including factual investigation and document collection

  • Assist with discovery responses and collections

  • Assist in handling DISH’s defense in small claims matters, including gathering pertinent documents and information, and coordinating witness appearances

  • Draft routine legal correspondence and documents for review and use by attorneys

  • Assist in electronic billing for legal vendors

Skills, Experience and Requirements

Education and Experience:

  • Certificate of completion from an ABA-approved Paralegal Education Program, an associate degree in paralegal studies, or a bachelor’s degree

  • Prior litigation experience required

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Must be able to effectively multi-task, manage time-sensitive projects, and have exceptional organizational skills in a fast-paced environment

  • Superior written and verbal communication skills, along with strong interpersonal skills

  • High attention to detail

  • Resourceful research and analytical skills

  • Experience in discovery and document productions, small claims court, subpoenas, client/customer service, and state/federal regulatory matters is desirable

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and some working knowledge of Google Suite applications

Salary Ranges

Compensation: $32.69/Hour - $44.23/Hour

The base pay range shown is a guideline. Individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level and competencies; compensation is based on the role's location and is subject to change based on work location. Candidates need to successfully complete a pre-employment screen, which may include a drug test and DMV check.
