Amazon Aircraft Maintenance Manager - Operations, Amazon Air in Erlanger, Kentucky

Description

Amazon AIR is in search of an Aircraft Maintenance Manager - Operations to join the Maintenance Operations team (MXO). The MXO team works 24/7 within the Amazon Air Network Control Center (NCC) located at the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (KCVG). MXO’s primary focus is to provide real-time technical information regarding AOG aircraft, fleet health and readiness for the Amazon AIR global network. Critical thinking is necessary for required communication of aircraft maintenance impact on complex network execution and contingency planning.

Key job responsibilities

  • Enter data into tracking systems and monitor all aircraft maintenance disruptions world-wide for effective communications with Amazon AIR stakeholders

  • Track Minimum Equipment List (MEL), Configuration Deviation List (CDL), Extended-range Twin-engine Operations Performance Standards (ETOPS), Category III operations (CAT III) and Autoland capabilities to ensure all aircraft systems are operational for inclement weather, extended over water operations and station capability preparedness

  • Oversee maintenance disruptions, distinguish between relevant and irrelevant technical information in order to make data-driven operational decisions and recommendations

  • Work directly with external providers, internal and external teams to craft and deliver scalable solutions

  • Develop relationships with air carriers to gather appropriate information and data to analyze and make recommendations to the NCC team while acting as liaison between carrier maintenance and Amazon AIR

  • Engage other Amazon business units globally to share best practices and improve end to end outcomes for Amazon customers

  • Participate and lead external and internal conference calls and meetings as needed

  • Seek opportunities to improve understanding and communication between MXO and NCC teams as well as between internal AIR orgs and external carrier partners.

  • Influence and support the carrier’s Maintenance Control and Line Maintenance execution.

  • Shift work required including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or an additional four years of related experience in lieu of degree

  • 3+ years airline, military, or equivalent experience with 14CFR 121 operations in line maintenance or maintenance control

  • FAA Part 65 Airframe and Powerplant certificate

  • 3+ years experience in Microsoft suite of tools including Excel

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of driving end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership experience

  • Experience in stakeholder management, dealing with multiple stakeholders at varied levels of the organization

  • Experience building processes, project management, and schedules

  • Master's degree in Aviation, business or similar

  • 3+ years of driving end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership experience

  • 3+ years experience of driving process improvements. Experience building processes, project management, and schedules.

  • Maintenance experience with Boeing 767-200/300, 737-800, and Airbus A330

  • Avionics experience

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel experience

  • Intermediate/advanced Tableau experience

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (English), including conducting system-wide briefings for senior leadership
