Food Busser/Runner- Chi The Strat (Las Vegas, NV)

Description:

Summary:

Responsible for having strong menu knowledge and delivering food. Delivers exceptional guest service and works with food servers and bus persons as needed to care for the guests.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Pre-determines which food plates are for which guests and presents the items without having to ask guest(s) who ordered each plate

  • Clears and cleans tables to ensure the table is ready for the next guest and transports bus trays to the back-of-the-house for cleaning

  • Re-sets tables with placemats, silverware and napkins for next guest

  • Sets condiments according to table standards and pre-busses tables to ensure guests have all utensils and condiments needed

  • Balance and carry large banquet trays with food to the table

  • Enthusiastically delivers food orders from the kitchen to the guest tables

  • Maintains strong knowledge of menu items, beverages and proper garnish and plate specifications; assists Expeditor with garnishment duties, as needed

  • Prepares “to-go” orders for guests

  • Replenishes wares in side stations, cleans and maintains beverage equipment and cleans front-of-house areas

  • Cleans assigned section at the end of shift

  • Maintains knowledge of hotel services and local activities in order to respond to guest inquiries

  • Monitors and maintains cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of assigned work areas

  • Ensure compliance with all applicable gaming laws and company internal controls, policies and procedures, Title 31, and federal regulations, as they apply to the position

  • Provide outstanding guest service in a timely manner to both guests and fellow team members that meets the company’s guest service culture standards

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:

Qualifications

  • At least six months previous experience working in a full service dining venue preferred

  • Experience providing high-touch guest service expected in an upscale room environment preferred

  • Must be team-oriented

  • Ability to use chopsticks

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and remain calm in a very high-paced, busy environment

  • Ability to effectively communicate in English, both written and verbal

  • Bilingual or Muti-lingual in at least one of the following languages is preferred: Cantonese, Chinese Mandarin, Vietnamese, and/or Korean

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred

  • At least 18 years of age

  • Obtain and maintain all work cards as required by the company

  • Verify right to work in the United States

  • Regularly walk, stand or stoop, bend and work indoors.

  • Frequently lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects weighing up to 50 lbs.

  • Hearing, vision, speech and literacy (critical)
