Position Overview

Mass. Electric Construction Co. is seeking a Revit Drafter/Designer. The ideal candidate will initially be responsible for assisting with drafting according to the given specifications and requirements. With experience, the successful candidate has the potential to be a project manager or higher and build out a team. The position requires coordinating between our clients, project managers, and other staff. The candidate should be someone that is an effective communicator and multi-tasker who works well in a fast-paced office environment.

Location

This role is based out of our Irvine CA office

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with other disciplines for the successful design, production, coordination, and delivery of projects.

• Set up architectural models for engineering use and be able to insert items from families on the Revit model

• Able to set up drawing pages and title blocks

• Able to update Revit background models and able to develop sub models for other disciplines to work on

• Redline or directly design/draft work directly into Revit models

• Independently and/or with others, conduct site visits and gather all information required for project design (personal, reliable transportation is a MUST)

• Review of shop drawings and submittals

• Review and edit construction specifications

• Knowledge of and the ability to apply state and local codes

• Develop plans and specifications with resolutions for solving unique issues

• Perform construction administration duties including but not limited to:

• Responding to contractor RFIs

• Reviewing shop drawings, and construction submittals

• Performing construction site field observations reports

• Preparing punch lists during various stages of construction

Qualifications

• Associates Degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school with an emphasis in CAD; or equivalent work experience

• Minimum 1 year of working knowledge of Revit in the electrical discipline is highly desired

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications (Outlook, Word, and Excel);

• Proficiency with PDF platforms (Adobe, Bluebeam, etc.) and ability to review drawing packages and provide markups within the PDFs;

• AutoCAD skills typically demonstrated from five to ten years of relevant experience;

• Knowledge of AutoCAD with ability to generate 3D models of electrical components

• Proficiency in REVIT;

• Able to produce electrical layouts and conduit routing plans for construction packages

• Able to include BIM attributes to electrical components and coordinate with internal and external partners to create a constructable model.

• Experience with preparing “for construction” drawing packages and coordinating with other discipline drawings and models;

• Strong organizational, interpersonal, and verbal and written communication skill;

• Ability to multi-task with strong attention to detail.

Base Compensation: $100,000 - $125,000

(Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, experience, skillset, and/or location)
