Major/Essential Functions:

  • Serve as the team leader for undergraduate student recruitment efforts. Develop, implement, and maintain the strategic student recruitment plan for Davis College congruent with established university recruitment, engagement, and retention goals. Track and assess recruiting efforts and adjust the recruitment plan accordingly.

  • Works closely with the Office of Admissions in maintaining high quality standards for recruitment protocols

  • Plan and conduct Red Raider Orientation.

  • Manage the Davis College Visitor Center, including assisting in supervising the student assistants.

  • Serve as a resource for assisting with Agri-Techsan program supervision.

  • Develop and foster relationships with community college counselors, teachers, and other strategic partners for recruiting.

  • Speak publicly to groups on and off campus to promote the college, it's programs, centers and facilities

  • Travel to and participate in off-campus and on-campus recruitments events and actively participate and engage with guests

  • Coordinate Davis College participation at university-hosted recruitment events to include University Days, Red Raider Experience, Raider Roadshows, group tours, Connect Tech, Techsan Preview Days, etc.

  • Coordinate receptions and functions for Texas FFA convention, National FFA convention, Texas 4-H Roundup, the State Fair of Texas, Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo, etc.

  • Help coordinate activities with the Agricultural Consortium of Texas in coordinating state-wide and out-of-state student recruiting efforts.

  • Manage the processes of providing tours and college information to prospective students, families, groups, and special guests of the college.

  • Coordinate all correspondence to high school prospective/transfer students.

  • Work closely with Davis College Marketing and Communications team to assist in maintaining the college website by providing updated information, assist office staff in answering telephones and greeting visitors in the Dean’s office when needed.

  • Update and revise brochures, fliers, and other types of publications associated with recruitment. Place orders and maintain inventory of recruitment materials.

  • Serve as a dean’s office liaison to the recruitment, retention, and career development committee.

  • Cross-train on job duties of other staff members associated the SSC and gain a broad knowledge of each function within the center. Perform some of the other job duties in the SSC when needed.

  • And other duties as assigned.
