As a Community Development Specialist, you will play a key role in assisting local governments with a wide range of initiatives, including grant writing and administration, economic development, personnel management, effective governance, transportation, hazard mitigation, and community planning. This is more than just a job; it's a chance to engage with local government issues, collaborate with elected officials, and develop innovative solutions that directly benefit our communities.

salary: $52,999 - $53,000 per year

work hours: 8 AM - 5 PM

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical assistance to local governments in areas such as administration, research, project management, and problem-solving.

  • Support the development and maintenance of personnel policies, grant applications, and job descriptions.

  • Research grant and loan sources to secure funding for various projects.

  • Collaborate with elected and appointed officials to prepare and administer grant and loan applications.

  • Develop proposals for project work on behalf of local governments and assist with policy development.

  • Assist local government staff with administrative functions, including budget preparation and procedural guidance.

  • Facilitate and support special projects such as housing needs assessments and economic development strategies.

  • Provide technical assistance with the development of comprehensive plans, mitigation plans, redevelopment plans, and more.
