Upsher-Smith Laboratories, LLC Material Handler II in Maple Grove, Minnesota

The Material Handler II (1st shift) will maintain and monitor material transactions to ensure material movement between warehouse and operations is efficient. Ensure sales and planning objectives are met by ensuring components and materials are available and delivered on a timely basis. Unloads incoming materials, facilitates movement of materials, components, in-process materials, and finished products to the appropriate storage locations. Provide support and assistance to internal customers, such as Operations, Distribution, Planning, Warehouse, and Sales and Marketing. Ensure a smooth, consistent, and timely flow of materials throughout the warehouse, packaging, manufacturing, and distribution areas. Identify and implement efficiencies to optimize warehouse space and material flow. Essential Duties: Performs and coordinates the unloading and storage of materials. Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly warehouse staging area. Assists warehouse staff to problem solve, investigate, and resolve material variances as directed by warehouse or inventory management staff. Other duties as assigned. Identify and segregate materials requiring IQM Investigations. Maintains inventory levels of supplies and materials used in the MFG and PKG operation. Performs appropriate goods transactions to facilitate movement of supplies between departments. Ensure that raw materials and components are released and ready for use. Receives in-coming shipments, checks for damages and/or shortages, complete appropriate record and enters inventory receipts into the computer system. Ensure that incoming and outgoing materials are not damaged. Notify applicable departments if necessary. Perform material transactions to ensure material placement and material movement comply with CGMP and regulatory requirements. Coordinates and performs cycle counts of materials in the warehouse. Coordinates inventoried material returned to the raw material component warehouse and moves materials to their proper storage locations. Perform and monitor material transactions and material documents, such as transfer requests, transfer orders, and manufacturing/production schedules and stage appropriate in-process materials for use. Monitor truck runs to ensure efficiency and correct timing. Utilize ERP system to maintain and monitor inventory accuracy on a daily basis. Performs general inquiries and analysis within the MRPERP system as needed. Perform periodic cycle counts of materials. Assist in investigating variances, as required. Ensure the materials are labeled with the correct quantity and returned to MG warehouse when applicable. Monitor and order non-inventoried production items as needed for production areas. Utilize FIFO to identify material movement and storage location. Ensure that plastic pallets are clean and damage free. Dispose if needed. Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is required. A minimum of 2 years material handling, movement or production experience is required. Experience in the operation of manual, mechanical and automated material handling equipment preferred. Basic computer skills required. Experience with RF scanning and SAP desired. Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Demonstrates safe work practices and follows safety requirements. Ability to solve problems and interact with cross functional peers professionally to achieve desired business objectives. Certifications / Licenses: Certification in forklift operation required (certification completed onsite).
