Weyerhaeuser is currently recruiting for 2024 Industrial Mechanical Maintenance Apprentice at the Magnolia, MS Lumber Mill. The Magnolia operation is a random length sawmill primarily producing lumber up to 20 feet in length with some specialty related capacity.  Magnolia, MS is located in Southwest MS near the Louisiana line. We have a reputation for manufacturing excellence and continuous improvement.

Weyerhaeuser Company is partnering with Southwest MS Community College Workforce Training to build a talent pipeline. We are seeking applicants for an internship opportunity at our Magnolia, MS lumber manufacturing facility. We are seeking applicants with a desire to work in the Industrial Maintenance Technology area of study. This is an excellent professional development opportunity.

  • Accepted into SMCC Workforce Training
  • Applied for Fall 2024 admission into the Industrial Maintenance Apprenticeship Program at SMCC Workforce Training 
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must be scheduled to complete high school studies and graduate on or before June 1, 2024
  • Must be able to commit to working onsite a minimum of 30 Hours per week
  • Must be able to commit to attending classes at Southwest MS Community College Workforce Training as required by the program
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills 
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work within a team environment. 
  • Problem solving skills. 
  • High level of initiative and motivation 
  • Ability to pass pre-employment requirements including drug screen, physical, and background check 
  • Proficient in MS Office 
  • Willingness to work in challenging environments (outdoor temperature extremes) 
  • Willingness to perform the essential functions of this position 
  • Commitment to follow all unit electrical/maintenance practices
  • Willingness to work any shift, including weekends and holidays
  • Willingness and ability to wear all required personal protective equipment
  • Eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship preferred
  • Prior work experience within a manufacturing/industrial setting
