Position Title: Program Manager (Part-time, Temporary Casual) Location: University of Minnesota, School of Public Health Supervisor: Dr. Ivan Wu Position Overview: The University of Minnesota's School of Public Health is seeking a part-time Program Manager to oversee administrative aspects of multiple community-based participatory research studies in the field of cancer prevention and control. This role involves higher level management of two externally funded grants working closely with project coordinators focused on cancer prevention among African American populations in collaboration with local faith-based organizations, and an internally funded project aimed at community health worker development and cancer prevention among East African adults. Temp/Casual: --Hours: 14 hours/week or less --Duration: 3 months, possibility to extend depending on funding, performance, etc. --Hybrid work Compensation: --$19.00/hour Responsibilities: Coordinate and maintain partnerships with community-based organizations. Manage project timelines for manuscripts and ensure timely submissions. Assist with the management of grant proposal timelines and deliverables. Conduct comprehensive literature reviews. Facilitate and lead joint team meetings across various studies. Qualifications Required Qualifications: Degree in Social Science, Public Health, or related field (graduate or undergraduate level). Demonstrated experience in community-engaged research, particularly within faith-based African American communities. Proficient in social science research methodologies, literature searches, and scholarly writing. Skilled in project management with proficiency in using project management tools. About the Department The Division of Epidemiology & Community Health focuses on disease and health in various populations. Our faculty and students examine the distribution, cause and prevention of diseases, and how human behavior affects overall health. The division offers MPH, MS and PhD degrees, as well as dual and joint degrees. Research: The work of epidemiologists spreads across sectors and areas of study, so our division and faculty are often partnering with other research entities and community organizations on public health research and interventions.
