The Position

Administrative Assistants perform a broad variety of clerical, secretarial and administrative support duties in an assigned agency, program or other work unit within State government and the Nevada System of Higher Education.

The Nevada Department of Corrections has a vacancy for an Administrative Assistant 1 at Lovelock Correctional Center, in Lovelock, NV. Incumbent to provide clerical support to programs area of Lovelock Correctional Center. Duties include, but are not limited: serve as the Assistant to the Administrative Service Officer. Additional duties include receptionist for the Business Office, maintaining office supply inventories, ordering and issuing barber supplies, data entry for various purpose, filing, preparation of correspondence, reports, maintain calendar for ASO and leave calendar for departments under ASO supervision. To Qualify:

In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:

Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)

Graduation from high school or equivalent education and one year of clerical experience which included experience in one or more of the following areas: maintaining records, answering telephones, and reviewing forms, documents and other written materials; OR six months of experience as an Administrative Aid in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.

Special Requirements

A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items. A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant. This position requires a valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility at the time of appointment and for continuing employment.
