Job Summary

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The essential functions of the job include but are not limited to the following:

Customer Relations

  • Respond expeditiously to calls from clinical departments to evaluate and rectify valid operator complaints and concerns.

  • Provide in-service educational programs on use of equipment.

  • Individual will maintain good personal relationships with fellow workers, nursing and medical staff, vendors, manufacturers and the general public.

  • Individual is expected to display effective customer service in accordance with annual satisfaction survey protocol.

  • Provide leadership and managerial oversight to personnel as assigned.

  • Provide assistance with the training and orientation of new hires.

  • Instruct and/or supervise biomedical equipment maintenance personnel in the safe use, application, testing, planned maintenance and repair of all types of clinical equipment technologies and systems.

  • Lead personnel and possibly serve as temporary site manager in the absence of the director/manager/supervisor as assigned.

  • Recommend new equipment and testing procedures.

  • Advanced repair and troubleshooting of computers, servers, and applicable network infrastructure.

  • Perform other duties as assigned that are intrinsic to the successful operation of the account and the company.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

Associates degree in biomedical equipment technology, electronic equipment technology, or military training preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted. Certification(s) preferred i.e. CBET, A+, etc.

Experience:

Minimum of seven (7) years or equivalent servicing a broad representation of clinical/patient care equipment in a hospital environment. Preferably have a specialization in one or more high-acuity modalities e.g., ventilators, anesthesia units, dialysis, lasers, sterilizers, laboratory, surgery.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to walk, stand or sit for prolonged periods.

  • Vision and hearing correctable to within normal range to communicate with customers and perform repair work.

  • Position requires bending, stooping, reaching up and lifting up to 50lbs.
