This is a great opportunity to work in Boeing Commercial Airplanes ( BCA ) South Carolina Design Center in North Charleston , as an Experienced Structural Analysis Engineer .

The 787 Aft Body Structures Life Cycle Product Team ( LCPT ) day to day activities include performing structural analysis on design and production while interfacing with production, supply chain, and other functions on engineering technical questions.

The team leads change coordination, cost-down initiatives, rate enabler design changes and improvement and resolution to service-related issues for safety and reliability within each volume.

Working under minimal supervision, position responsibilities include the following:

  • Provides technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems. Develops solutions that are imaginative, thorough, practicable, and consistent with organization objectives.

  • Independently determines and develops approaches to solutions. Receives general direction for work that is reviewed upon completion for adequacy in meeting objectives.

  • Interacts frequently with inter - organizational personnel and external customers. Represents the organization by providing solutions to difficult technical issues associated with specific projects.

  • Contributes to the completion of specific programs and projects. Failure to obtain results, reaching erroneous decisions or making recommendations would typically result in serious program delays and considerable expenditure of resources.

  • Completely understands and applies job practices, techniques, standards, principles, theories, and concepts. Possesses general knowledge of other related disciplines.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.

This position must meet export control compliance requirements. To meet export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):

  • Bachelor’s of Science or higher from an accredited course of study. Engineering is preferred.

  • 5+ years' of experience working with aircraft primary structure analysis.

  • 1+ years’ of experience with Linear and Non-Linear structural Finite Element Models (FEMs).

  • 3+ years’ of experience with composite structures and fuselage stress analysis.

  • Able to support regular and emergent domestic or international travel to support our customers. (Willing to travel up to 20% of the time).

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in one of the following engineering majors: Mechanical, Aerospace, Aeronautical, or Civil, and select STEM degrees.

  • Demonstrate engineering knowledge working structural activities with Boeing airplanes or in a Structural and/or Aerospace industry.

  • Excellent communication and project management skills, along with the ability to make decisions and deliver results.

  • Committed to finding a way to resolve problems and keep commitments.

  • Experience providing customer support services to airlines.

  • Ability to lead, work independently and in a team environment.

Typical Education/Experience:

Education from an accredited course of study and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience must be in an engineering classification.

Bachelor of Science and typically 5+ years' experience, or Master or Doctorate of Science and typically 3+ years' experience.

ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Salary:

$94,760 - $128,500
