POSITION: SECURITY SUPERVISOR / PART TIMEDEPARTMENT: SECURITYREPORTS TO: SECURITY DIRECTOR & SECURITY MANAGERCLASSIFICATION: PART TIME / NON-EXEMPT*Pay Rate: $23 hour*Incentives: Non guard card applicants will receive $150 towards their reimbursements after successfully completing 30 shifts with no disciplinary actions and or attendance issues. Current guard card applicants will receive $30 towards renewal reimbursement after completion of 30 events with no disciplinary actions and or attendants' issues.POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for Supervising Security Officers and overseeing the safety and security of the arena patrons, employees, and assets.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Supervise Arena's security positions during designated shift(s)Update briefing/post materials for officers in a timely mannerConduct informative shift briefings with incoming/outgoing Officers & SupervisorsEnsure all posts are safe, in order & cleanHave full knowledge of the arena's layout and Security SystemsConduct periodic post checks & correct performance issuesTrain staff in basic guest service & security skills and be capable of performing duties at all postsProvide leadership & guidance to staff. Serve as mentor/coach to Security TeamExhibit leadership qualities, motivate staff and lead by exampleConduct and investigate venue security requestsResolve escalated issues, provide appropriate warnings and complete ejections if necessaryHave full knowledge of the arena's emergency proceduresEnsure staff enforcement & guest compliance of arena's Event Policies at all timesProvide direction to security staff and ensure event requirements are metKnow and uphold the Security Dept's Prime Directives, most importantly our mission to take reasonable steps to protect the safety & security of our arena's guests, employees and assets with respect towards everyone's dignity and legal rightsWork closely with Security Director and Manager(s)EXPERIENCE/TRAINING/EDUCATION:A minimum education level of High School Diploma or equivalency2-4 years of Supervisory level experience (preferred)Ability to effectively perform in crises and work under pressure without loss of composureAbility to memorize, recollect and quickly retrieve relevant informationWillingness to accept additional responsibility and assignmentsAbility to maintain good work relationships with all employees & management staffAbility to interact effectively & calmly with angry or emotional guests, etc.. during intensely aggravated situationsAbility to represent the Security Dept. and Arena in an exemplary mannerLICENSE/CERTIFICATE: Must Have A Current California Issued Guard CardPHYSICAL & ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS:Ability to stand on hard surfaces and walk for long periods of timeAbility to climb up and down stairs throughout shiftAbility to work in changing temperatures, inside the arena & outdoorsAPPLICANTS MUST BE ABLE TO WORK EVENINGS, WEEKENDS & PEAK ARENA TIMES, AS WELL AS DIFFERENT SHIFT TIMES, BASED ON THE NEEDS OF THE ARENA.Note:The essential responsibilities of this position are described under the headings above.
