Holtec International Operations Manager in Orrville, Ohio

General Summary of duties: 

  • The position of Operations Manager will provide oversight and direction of all manufacturing and production activities at the Orrvilon facility. Will be responsible for completion of production schedules and meeting all internal and external customer demands. Directly supervises the staff of Supervisors and indirectly all associates.

Job Duties/Responsibilities - (Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following):

  • Responsible for the safety, quality and on-time delivery of products while monitoring budgeted hours,

  • Sets /approves the production schedule from month-to-month to meet schedule/milestones

  • Coordinate and communicate workflow/priorities between manufacturing organizations and vendors,

  • Manage all phases of production in the manufacturing facility. Overall responsibility includes production supervisors, shipping/receiving, maintenance and production teams,

  • Responsible for quality and quantity of daily production requirements,

  • Interfaces internally with: General Manager, Human Resource Manager, Quality Manager, Safety Supervisor, Project Managers, Shipping Receiving, Finance, Maintenance, Production Teams, and other Corporate support groups.

  • Interfaces externally with: suppliers and customers,

  • Manage systems to ensure on-time product delivery,

  • Monitor all safety procedures and policies,

  • Monitor processes and spending to maximize cost effectiveness, maintain on-going cost reduction program,

  • Coordinate activities and measure performance of manufacturing sections; monitor maintenance program to maximize machine availability, Measure and report progress against goals to all internal interfaces,

  • Work with the Quality Assurance department and Quality engineers to implement and maintain Holtec's Quality Assurance standards,

  • Perform special projects and other duties as required for successful facility operation.

Requirements

Minimum & Preferred Qualifications

Minimum: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent with 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing leadership role. Experience in a manufacturing operations environment, intermediate level of blueprint reading and machine capability. Must be computer literate and possess good written and verbal communication skills. Must possess the ability to interface well with management and associates and to work in and develop a team environment.

Preferred: Have a working understanding of LEAN manufacturing principles, 5S workplace organization and basic knowledge of inventory control procedures.
