Bollinger Mississippi Shipbuilding Project Coordinator B (1901) in Pascagoula, Mississippi

This is a Project Coordinator B position with a company in Kiln, MS.

Summary: Initiates and performs various administrative duties in support of engineering projects.

  Interfaces with engineering personnel, regulatory bodies, class societies, vendors, subcontractors, and yard personnel.

  Reports to the Senior Configuration Manager.

Responsibilities: Responsible for all job administration and coordination for a project, as a team member and manages all correspondence and data assigned by Project Engineer. Receives, processes, and responds to requests for information concerning job and job coordination. Processes, assembles and tracks drawing issues, drawing correspondence, drawing comments, deliverable status report, regulatory and class correspondence (including comments), and job-related transmittals. Support of CDRL management, submissions, tracking, and reporting if required. Provides support to project teams by providing administrative checks and balances to ensure adherence to engineering procedures. Assembles and maintains project files within SharePoint. Performs data management via IDE site by uploading and downloading data for review and approvals. Regulatory body point of contact for postings and retrieval of information necessary for the class approval of each assigned project. Maintains KMS to reflect open and closed liens and required reports in support of weekly status meetings. Provides supervision and mentoring to subordinates.

Requirements: Ability to communicate on all levels with Program Management, Project, Engineering, and Production Personnel to ensure all program requirements are fulfilled in accordance with contractual requirements and obligations. Strong knowledge of general engineering administration practices. Good communication and interpersonal skills required. Must be able to gather, organize, collate, and distribute large amounts of data to support managing projects. Must work well in a team environment. Must be able to prepare presentation materials in support of meetings. Ability to work with minimal supervision and on multiple projects required. Must be highly skilled in the operation of a variety of computer programs, primarily Microsoft Office products and KMS.

  Basic AutoCAD skills are required. Shipbuilding experience is beneficial, but not required.
