Aerotek Maintenance Lead (1st Shift) in Raleigh, North Carolina

Schedule: Monday-Thursday 7am-4:30pm Friday 7am-11am.

General Details:

  • Will work with one other tech.

  • Will set PM schedule, responsible for working with 3rd party vendors, order parts, no nights or weekends, experience with older analog equipment.

  • Mostly Reactive maintenance.

Job Description

  • As a lead person you will report directly to the Operations Manager to assist in directing the daily tasks, ensuring PM System remains on schedule, and provide guidance and training to peers to improve their skills.

  • Essential duties and responsibilities include installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing a wide variety of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic pieces of production equipment. In addition, the position includes performing general building and grounds maintenance to plant, air compressors, alarm systems, heating and air-conditioning electrical motors, plumbing and building wiring.

What you’ll do:

  • Diagnose and remedy trouble, determine necessary repairs, tear down and re-assemble intricate mechanisms. High degree of skill required in fitting of bearings, spindles, etc.

  • Train skilled or unskilled workers while engaged in installation or repair of equipment.

  • Be able to troubleshoot and repair electrical services, electronic control circuitry, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems and machinery.

  • Be able to read electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic schematics and basic understanding of architectural drawings.

  • Operate basic shop equipment such as milling machine, drill press, lathe, and welding. Light woodworking/carpentry skills.

  • Familiar with the use of material handling equipment such as overhead cranes pallet jacks and forklifts for the purpose of relocating and installing various types of machinery.

  • Contact, specify, and order replacement parts & control components from supplier as needed.

  • Occasionally, you may be required to be the liaison for the company with City, County and State Inspectors and Agencies.

  • Work with electrical, mechanical, janitorial, pest control, landscaping, and other service contractors on continual services as well as special projects.

  • At times maybe required use of your private vehicle to deliver and pickup supplies and or repaired equipment from local vendors. Mileage reimbursement at current federal guidelines is offered.

  • If needed provide janitorial or general housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and safe work environment for our employees.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in using electrical test equipment: voltmeter, ammeter, ohm meter, megger & etc.

  • Understanding basic machine function and sequence of operations of production machinery

  • Experienced in reading electrical, pneumatic and mechanical drawings

  • Lock Out Tag Out safety procedures

  • PPE requirements

  • Basic knowledge of OSHA rules and regulations

  • Experienced industrial mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and pneumatic skills including troubleshooting

  • Strong ability with time management and task prioritization skills

  • An understanding of electrical and mechanical math

  • Knowledge of 3 Phase Industrial wiring and power distribution

  • AC & DC drive / motor PMs, wiring, programming & troubleshooting.

  • Troubleshoot PLC I/O and networking

  • Motion training with servo drives and motors

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with and communicate to other plant personnel as well as company resources and vendors

  • Experience in Root Cause Analysis & problem solving

  • 3-5+ years industrial maintenance experience; plastics and metals is a plus.
