Sr Associate, Risk Management (Card) (Hybrid)

The Card Platforms and Well Managed team provides a strategically positioned defense, designed to strengthen the “well managed” muscle across Card Platforms and Services and fuel sustainable innovation by offering centralized support across multiple dimensions of risk mitigation activities.

As a Sr. Risk Associate performing Control Execution and supporting Horizontal Services, you will work among a talented team of individuals who provide strategic support for Regulatory controls engaging with both domestic and offshore partners.

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Provide oversight of daily control execution activities through established processes and standards to mitigate risk to company and ensure optimal customer recovery

• Partner with key stakeholders to solve day to day breakdowns identified within control output and ensure control results delivered on time.

• Coordinate, influence and negotiate priorities with partner dependencies, data analyst team and offshore resources, ensuring goals/timelines are met; escalating when appropriate

• Streamline interactions with the business related to breakdown enhancement, control progress and process improvement opportunities

• Training of offshore teammates and others as necessary

• Building strong relationships to effectively collaborate with key stakeholders and ensure delivery of commitments

• Maintaining performance that aligns with quality and production metrics

A successful candidate will have:

• A deep understanding of Capital One Enterprise Risk Management Standards, tools and systems to document the process, breakdowns and resolution as required;

• Demonstrated outstanding communication, relationship building

• Exceptional collaboration skills necessary for interacting with key stakeholders at all levels across the company to manage, inform, and influence outcomes

• Strong judgment and critical thinking skills

• Process and project management experience with excellent organization and planning skills

• Capacity to deliver quality work, multi-task, and focus on priorities in a dynamic environment

• Strong problem identification, resolution and analytical abilities

• Strong communication, problem solving and collaboration skills

Basic Qualifications:

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent certification

• At least 3 years of Project Management or Process Management experience

• At least 2 years of Operations, Financial Services Compliance or Risk Management experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• 3+ years of Operations, Financial Services Compliance or Risk Management experience

• 3+ years of experience in management of multiple projects concurrently in an autonomous environment

• 3+ years of risk methodologies and corporate risk practices experience

• PMP, Lean, Agile or Six Sigma certification

This role is hybrid meaning associates typically spend about half their time (2-3 days per week) in-person at one of our offices listed on this job posting. Mondays and Fridays are enterprise- wide virtual work days . Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday are in-person days for associates to spend time together working in our beautifully-designed team areas.
