University Marketing & Communications has an exciting opening for a Digital Strategy Project Manager. This is a full-time, temporary six-month position.

The Digital Strategy Project Manager will play an important role on the Digital Strategy team, which focuses on web strategy, email marketing and social media. This position will orchestrate the planning, execution and delivery of our digital projects, ensuring high standards of creativity, user engagement, accessibility and functionality are met. The Digital Strategy Project Manager will work closely with various stakeholders, leading a talented team of content producers, developers and strategists to drive our digital presence forward. This position will also manage traffic, schedule project-related meeting and coordinate with teams across University Marketing and Communications at the University of Washington.

What You Will Do:

Project Management (80%)

  • Develop and manage the budget, scope and timeline for all digital projects, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.

  • Set deadlines, assign responsibilities and ensure all members are accountable for keeping projects on task and on time.

  • Conduct regular team meetings to review progress, address bottlenecks and adjust project plans, as necessary, to meet deadlines and quality standards.

  • Write comprehensive status reports and present findings, ensuring transparency and alignment across the organization.

  • Efficiently and effectively close projects, including presenting final digital projects to leadership, highlighting outcomes and impact; and facilitate post-project debrief meetings to gather feedback and document opportunities for improvement.

  • Oversee the development and design process, ensuring a seamless and user-friendly experience across our digital platforms while ensuring digital projects meet both technical and operational requirements.

  • Stay informed on latest trends in digital design, social media and email marketing, applying innovative strategies to our projects.Strategy and Innovation (15%)

  • Lead the conceptualization of digital project designs, working closely with UX, web development, and design teams to create visually appealing and functional websites, social media content and campaigns, and email marketing offerings.

  • Ensure the integration of SEO best practices, enhancing the visibility and reach of our digital content.

  • Assist with troubleshooting and testing digital prototypes, overseeing the deployment and live monitoring of our digital projects, as needed.

  • Document and provide recommendations to improve digital development processes, sharing insights and best practices with the team.Other Duties as Assigned (5%) What You Bring:

  • Demonstrable experience with omni-channel marketing project management, including website, email, social media and affiliate marketing.

  • Proficiency in Agile and traditional project management methodologies, with the ability to adapt these practices to suit project needs.

  • Basic or intermediate literacy in web design, UX principles, and a basic familiarity with programming languages (e.g., Java, HTML, PHP) or content management systems like WordPress or Drupal.

  • Experience in project management software like Asana or Monday.com.

  • Exceptional communication, collaboration and leadership skills, with a knack for creative problem-solving and innovation in digital projects.

  • Outstanding organizational and time-management abilities, capable of juggling multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.

  • A passion for digital innovation, with a commitment to continuously learning about industry trends in digital strategy and design. Commitment to diversity and inclusion, bringing a range of perspectives and ideas to every project. Minimum Requirements:

  • A bachelor's degree and at least 3 years of experience in project or client management within a marketing, creative, or digital environment.Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.
