Amazon Revenue Analyst II, SMGS Ops Revenue Operations in Seattle, Washington

The successful candidate will be an expert with strong business insight skills and skills in SQL, ETL, excel and big data techniques. The candidate will also have exemplary communication skills. The candidate will need to be comfortable with ambiguity in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment, and able to think big while paying careful attention to detail. The candidate will know and love working with data, is customer obsessed, strives to achieve the highest bar with revenue data, and can partner with customers to answer key business questions and also work with tech teams to drive systematic resolutions. The candidate is also comfortable working with ambiguity and driving projects from end to end to meet customer requests by working crossfunctionally.

Key job responsibilities

  • Own the requirements, design, and development of scalable solutions for revenue datasets to support analytical, compensation and reporting business needs

  • Conduct detailed UAT to support project launches to enhance revenue datasets

  • Answer critical customer questions on revenue data by diving into detailed data and leveraging SQL, big data skills and business insight

  • Raise issues in data and drive issues to resolution independently, after collaborating with tech team, team members and customers.

  • Work with business customers to gather requirements and deliver reporting, data and analytical solutions

  • Troubleshoot operational data-quality issues, while driving data democratization throughout the organization, enabling others to self-serve their data needs

  • Write queries and output efficiently, and have in-depth knowledge of the data available in area of expertise

  • Recommend improvements to back-end data sources and implement data quality checks for increased accuracy and simplicity

  • Recognize and adopt best practices in reporting and analysis, including data integrity, accuracy, reliability and documentation

About Sales, Marketing and Global Services (SMGS)

AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector.

We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:

Seattle, WA, USA

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of Microsoft Excel experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field

  • Experience with data visualization software (e.g., AWS QuickSight or Tableau) or open-source project

  • Proven ability to use data to back up assumptions and develop business cases. Proven ability to manage tight deadlines, prioritize workload by using strong communication, problem solving, big data skills (like SQL) and cross functional skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree (or equivalent experience) in a quantitative or business field

  • Familiarity with AWS products and tools and experience with scripting languages such as Python and R

  • Experience in partnering with business owners to understand requirements and develop supporting analysis to solve business problems

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $70,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $169,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
