Job Title: Crisis Specialist I

Location: Springfield, MO

Employment Type: Full-time

Shift: Monday - Friday

Job Summary:

Are you a passionate and dedicated Crisis Specialist looking to make a positive impact in the lives of individuals experiencing behavioral health crises? As a Crisis Specialist I, you'll provide phone intervention as clinically appropriate, consult with area law enforcement and/or hospital emergency rooms, and advise regarding alternatives for disposition of non-Burrell clients and Burrell clients. Our ideal candidate has a Bachelor's Degree in the Human services field (Master's degree preferred), with a preference for LMSW, LCSW, PLPC, or LPC. You should also have the ability to work independently, establish effective relationships via telephone and face-to-face contacts, and demonstrate adaptability and initiative.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide phone intervention as clinically appropriate and document all contacts on appropriate forms.

  • Consult with area law enforcement and/or hospital emergency rooms and advise regarding alternatives for disposition of non-Burrell clients and Burrell clients.

  • Participate in and contribute to the various staff development activities of Burrell.

  • Provide crisis intervention services and participate in emergency services in order to provide rapid aid in cases of emotional crisis.

  • Attend scheduled conference calls, webinars, face-to-face meetings/trainings, and individual and group supervision.

  • Complete other duties as assigned by the Director of Crisis Services or designee.

Education and/or Experience Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in the Human services field (Master's degree preferred)

  • Prefer LMSW, LCSW, PLPC, LPC

Additional Qualifications:

  • Work independently

  • Establish effective relationships via telephone and face-to-face contacts

  • Adaptability (ability to perform effectively in the face of changing job demands)

  • Initiative (taking necessary and appropriate action on one's own)

  • CPR/First aid and CPI certified

  • Able to follow direction and accept supervision
