As a Mobile Crisis Specialist, you'll provide services to persons experiencing mental health crises. You'll be mobile, on-call, and work as a team member with other crisis staff to provide face-to-face crisis assessments or telephone crisis intervention when appropriate. Our ideal candidate is passionate about crisis intervention, has experience in the behavioral health field, and strong assessment and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide on-call/mobile coverage determined by work schedule for crisis assessments and interventions

  • Receive calls from crisis line and conduct telephone or face-to-face assessments

  • Communicate with crisis team for backup and access community resources as needed

  • Assess risk and coordinate individual's needs during crises, facilitate appropriate services, assist with hospitalization, and develop safety plans

  • Work effectively with law enforcement and emergency personnel

  • Maintain communication with internal programs and external partners for referrals

  • Demonstrate knowledge of mental illness signs and symptoms to serve individuals in crisis

  • Navigate legal system regarding custody and guardianship issues when working with children and families

Education and/or Experience Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in behavioral health or related field

  • Completed practicum OR one year of experience in behavioral health field

  • Appropriate driver's license, insurance coverage, and meet auto liability carrier's criteria

Additional Qualifications:

  • Strong crisis assessment and intervention skills

  • Ability to work in a team environment and collaborate effectively

  • Excellent communication and documentation abilities
