Copeland Mechanical/Electrical Technician in St. Louis, Missouri

If you are a Mechanical/Electrical Technician looking for an opportunity to grow, Copeland has an exciting opportunity for you! Based in our St. Louis, MO location, you will evaluate product performance by testing, including life cycle testing, post testing, returned goods product testing including recording results and data analysis. You will also conduct/manage test equipment and gage calibration and maintain calibration system and records, test and evaluate products by using HALT/HASA methods and verify conformance of products and/or supplier components using appropriate measuring/inspection instruments including fixed and variable gages and optical/laser/hard probe coordinate measurement systems. You will need leadership skills and versatility and be interested in developing a career in our Lab.

As a Mechanical/Electrical Technician, You Will:

  • Conduct testing and evaluation of product.

  • Maintain and update test procedures and test fixture equipment.

  • Maintain the division test and measurement database system and standards traceability.

  • Create technical reports and conduct data analysis.

  • Communicate inter- and intra-departmental and participates in problem solving efforts with all functions as prioritized/required.

  • Work with quality, engineering, and manufacturing to support process and product improvement initiatives and assist in special projects pertaining to the lab and quality processes and the organization.

  • Determine the root cause and to provide feedback or initiate corrective action as needed.

  • Perform and/or coordinate the calibration of dimensional, electrical, electronic, mechanical, and physical test and measurement equipment and administers and maintains the division calibration system.

Schedule

We offer the flexibility of a core hour work schedule. Employees can flex their start and stop times given they are working during the core hours of 9:00am - 3:00pm. Our teams work together to ensure their chosen work schedules are supporting our customers. This role has a travel requirement of 10% of its time.

Required Education, Experience & Skills:

  • Associate's degree in related technical or science field (Electrical/Mechanical) or 2-3 years’ experience may be considered.

  • Experience working with HVAC controls.

  • Experience in creating effective technical reports and conduct data analysis.

  • Design and build test control boards to accommodate electrical, electronic, and mechanical controls.

  • Access to a second-floor mezzanine via stairs is a requirement.

  • Lifting requirement of a maximum of 40 pounds.

  • Legal authorization to work in the United States - Sponsorship will not be provided for this role.

Preferred Education, Experience & Skills:

  • Experience with test equipment utilized to measure various test mediums, i.e.: Voltage, Current, Pressure, Flow and Temperature.

  • Reads and draws electrical schematics

  • Good electro/mechanical aptitude with the ability to conduct assignments independently

  • Requires interpretation of ANSI, UL and CSA standards

  • Provides HALT/HASA test fixtures and test data to develop technical reports.

  • Problem Solving skills for Continual Improvement Projects

  • Accurate representation of test results through extensive investigation and analysis.
