Director of Government Affairs

Remote from a home office but must be based in the Washington, DC area.

Job Summary:

The Director of Government Affairs reports to our Senior Vice President, Policy and External Affairs. The Director of Government Affairs:

  • Is a critical and strategic thinker, responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive government affairs and messaging strategy to further the interests of Array Tech Inc. before Federal government entities.

  • Identify and manage the advancement and monitoring of critical policy priorities, and develop messaging and communication strategies to highlight our key issues.

  • Represents us regarding policy matters of importance to Array Tech Inc. and the solar industry before Congress, the Administration and Federal Agencies.

  • Develops and maintains relationships with relevant federal policymakers and staff, and others involved in the policymaking process.

  • Coordinates with internal stakeholders and external trade associations, customers, coalitions, and industry partners in multiple venues to advance our federal policy objectives.

  • Collaborates with our executive team, communications team, community relations team, investor relations team, and other internal stakeholders to gather information, formulate talking points and incorporate communications strategies into Array Tech Inc.’s advocacy initiatives.

  • Produces written materials (memos, fact sheets, talking points) in support of Array Tech Inc.’s advocacy and regulatory efforts.

  • Represents our position and priorities to trade associations and industry partners through participation in committees and working group activities, and manages related issues.

  • Attends meetings and briefings on behalf of Array Tech Inc., providing summaries and analyses of proceedings and alerting internal team members of important issues and deadlines.

  • Provides support for conferences and tradeshows where Array Tech Inc. is a participant through panel participation and on-site staffing of the conferences.

  • Must be based in the Washington, DC area.

Qualifications:

We are seeking a dynamic, strategic, collaborative, and highly motivated individual to stand up our government affairs team. Qualified candidates will possess:

  • A bachelor’s and preferably an advanced degree in political science, law, or other public policy discipline.

  • 10+ years of public policy or legislative advocacy experience. Time working on Capitol Hill, a plus.

  • Particular knowledge and experience working in a bipartisan manner on energy and/or trade policy issues.

  • An open-minded and creative approach to lobbying the Federal government, with proven skills at gathering legislative information and developing and executing strategic advocacy plans.

  • The ability to work directly with our industry and trade association partners, with excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Experience working with trade associations.

  • The ability to work effectively in a highly collaborative, team environment.

  • A strong work ethic and cheerful customer-service attitude in order to thrive in our fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

  • Computer literacy skills (Microsoft Office tools including Word, Power Point, Excel and Outlook).

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience working with congressional and committee leadership offices, a plus.
